I want a love that will last.

A few days back, I came across this very song from one of the folders on my laptop that my dearest friend gave to me quite some time back. So some of you may remember this song from one of the previous Disney movies, Princess Diaries 2, which I quite miss watching though, a little lacking these movies here. I have heard this song before, the melody and title are dear friends, I just never bothered much about the lyrics that only now did I realize has in fact a wonderful meaning.
Some people say that if you don't go out there and if you don't, how do I put it, "test the waters", you wouldn't know if there is or where is that right one for you. But I find that this is in fact a very subjective matter. Maybe to some they would rather have a youth full of lovers and heartbreak, it is in fact not wrong if one were to do so or maybe to some it's not that they want to. Then again, I'm not saying that you shouldn't get the chance to "check out the scene before settling", because if you do not find and rule out the ones that you think are not suitable, how are you ever going to find that special one, right? However in some cases it is possible to find love at the very beginning, that she or he may be the one that will last. Love is not something that you can find sitting by the roadside, or lying in your bed, it's rather about loving the imperfectly beautiful things that only you can understand of your other half. All I'm saying is, to some, that maybe all this while the right one is standing in front of you all along, but the devil inside of you would rather give in to the fact that you just want to have some fun.
Learn to love that special someone you have, for he or she is in every way special and unique and that was why you fell in love with him or her in the first place. Love is about communication, about understanding, about trust, and most of all it is about give and take. Love is also about the differences that the two of you have, but it is the compromise of these differences that keeps the ball rolling and keeps the world spinning round and round. So, some may beg to differ, but nothing anybody says to them is going to change, and trust me I don't intend to do so, it's just that I want to say, as for me, I'd prefer a love that will last. Just for one to come my way and love me for who I really really am, not what I'm made of, or what you may get out of me. I'm just ordinary, and as Renee says, don't kiss and hug me and then try to run.
